After starting his No. 38 Wawa Recharger from the 26th position, Graf made solid progress throughout the race and drafted inside the top 15 early in Stage 2, but the RSS Racing team was eliminated from the race after being collected in a multi-car accident on Lap 42.

Joe Graf Jr. Quoteboard:
On Darlington (S.C.) Raceway: “Darlington has always been one of my favorite tracks. It is a challenging track to compete at, but I enjoy the challenge. The track requires extreme focus and hitting your marks every lap and momentum from execution is never more critical than at Darlington.
“The RSS Racing with Lefcourt Brothers team brought me an incredibly fast No. 38 Ford Mustang in the spring and we were well in contention for a top-10 finish – but we were involved in a chain-reaction incident on a restart and did not get the finish we were looking for.
“Our mentality is to go to Darlington, finish what we started in May, and bring home a solid finish for our team. We had a fast car last weekend at Daytona, too – just at the wrong place at the wrong time.
“We have had a lot of speed lately; we just don’t have the finishes. I hope we can change that on Saturday afternoon and give myself and this team some confidence for Kansas next weekend.”
On The 2023 Season: “As we press on during the second half of the NASCAR Xfinity Series, it is essential for me to utilize what I have learned with the RSS Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing teams and apply that behind the wheel.
“August wasn’t necessarily a good month for me in terms of results, but it has not come from the lack of effort from myself or my team. We will continue fighting hard, inch forward over the final nine races, and kick off September strong.
“We started the year off strong but then fell a little bit. We’re slowly but steadily trying to put ourselves in a good position for the end of the summer and into the fall.
“I just need to stay focused, communicate with my team, and utilize the knowledge I’ve gained over the past three years to recover and end the season on a high.”
The Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help a Hero 200 (147 laps | 200.8 miles) is the 25th of 33 NASCAR Xfinity Series races on the 2023 schedule. Practice begins on Saturday, September 2 from 10:35 a.m. – 11:05 a.m. Qualifying immediately follows at 11:05 a.m. The 38-car field will take the green flag shortly after 3:30 p.m. with live coverage on the USA Network, the Motor Racing Network (Radio) and SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90. All times are local (Eastern).
